A List of Things to Bring on your Wedding Day

When your wedding day finally comes, you’ll probably have a lot of things in your mind. So, it’s useful to prepare some things in advance, pack what you can and have a list of things you need that day.

That way, you have fewer chances to forget something essential on that day, such as rings or vows. On the other hand, things such as painkillers and tampons are not crucial but might get handy in some situations.

To save you from the trouble of creating your own must-have list of things to have on your wedding day, here are some most common things you will need during the day.

A wedding day is a day just like every other day, so things like your ID card, mobile, charger, money are required on that day too. If you are taking some medications, don’t forget to pack them, too.

Next, print the contact data of all wedding specialists you cooperate with on a piece of paper and keep it with your other essentials. Yes, you can have their phone numbers memorized in your phone contact list. However, your contact list probably contains plenty of people with similar names and in case of emergency you might struggle to remember the name of the wedding specialist. Having it on a piece of paper will simplify the thing and save you time if needed.

A rule of thumb to follow is to bring spare things. Those include:

  • Spare, comfortable shoes
  • Spare shirt for the groom
  • Spare dress (if you want to have something more comfortable at the party)
  • Spare stockings
  • Spare underwear (if you are going to spend the night after the wedding in a hotel)

You can pack the bag with spare things a few days before the wedding.

Preparation Stage

Now, when you are aware of the things you might need on a wedding day, it is time to list the things you will 100% need.

Those include:

  • Wedding dress
  • Beautiful hanger for the wedding dress
  • Lingerie and garter
  • Veil (if you carry one)
  • Rings
  • Wedding shoes
  • Perfume
  • Flowers
  • Jewellery
  • Chosen accessories

Lastly, pack invitations, as your photographer might want to take pictures of them in the wedding environment. If you talked with your photographer about having the things that mean something to you photographed, pack them, too. It can include your favourite pictures from the dating stage, some souvenirs from your trips, etc. But, make sure to discuss your ideas with the photographer first.

Go through the list several times and ensure that you haven’t forgotten anything. For example, maybe you’ll wear a flower band instead of a veil.

Print the timeline of the wedding and pack it, in case you mix the hours. It will be useful to have on hand when the excitement hits you.

The champagne bottle as well as water are also a useful thing to have around. It will help you stay hydrated, relieve the tension and make excellent wedding photos!

What you need for the Ceremony

The next stage you need to pack for is the ceremony stage. Consider the type of ceremony, you are having and list the things you need to complete it.

Rings, vows and passes are essential things to pack for despite the ceremony you are having. Next, if you are having a traditional wedding, don’t forget the rice or flower petals bags, which you’ll allocate to the bridesmaid.

Pillows for rings and napkins are also to be packed a day before.

What you need after the Ceremony

When the ceremony passes, the party begins. By that time, you have probably been dressed up for a while and you might need a touch-up.

Pack the essential makeup, hair, and hygiene emergency kit. It includes:

  • Mirror
  • Setting powder and a brush
  • Blotting Tissues
  • Lipstick
  • Hairpins
  • Hairspray
  • Hair clippers
  • Comb
  • Deodorant
  • Sanitary napkins or tampons
  • Nail file
  • Floss
  • Lip gloss
  • Plaster
  • Painkillers
  • Glue roller or clothes cleaning brush
  • Everything for the chosen rituals and traditions

Also think about what you will need for the chosen rituals and traditions for later in the evening.

Packing for a wedding day can be hard if you try to keep your list in your head. Instead, be smart, print the lists and mark everything as you packed it. That way, you can be sure that nothing important is forgotten!
